Stage 1: Prep and Paint
Being this is a new project for us, we figured since there was no motor, tranny, or seats in it at the moment, now would be the perfect time to paint the interior and engine bay! It seemed like a simple job before we started but soon realized it probably would have been a lot easier to just pay someone to do it…having said that, the route we took was much more budget friendly. We will save our money to let the professionals do the exterior paint job.
Once the seats were pulled, this was our starting point.
While we were in there, we were able to remove about 10 lbs worth of sound deadening that was left in there!
This was from the first trip to Lowes for supplies. We ended up going through about 10 cans of primer and 12 cans of paint in total. We are still applying the clear coat…we expect to go through about 6 cans in total.
Work is still in progress…but it’s looking good! Stay tuned for the finished product!
